It has now been a year since we started to work on The Odyssey. One year of readings on developing economies, emails and Skype meetings, website and logo designing, paperwork and fundraising... We are very excited to finally begin this collective journey in India.

We landed on Friday in New Delhi, the capital of the country. This city is part of a bigger agglomeration called Delhi. Delhi has 25 million inhabitants, ranking, consequently, the 4th most populated city in the world. Delhi has an old history as it was the capital of the Moghol Empire in 1526. Some monuments like the Red Fort and Humayun's Tomb in old Delhi are landmarks of this period. New Delhi was created later, in the southern suburb of Delhi, by the British in 1911. As the British crowd chose it over Calcutta to become capital of the British Raj.

"Teach for Green" will be the first structure The Odyssey will get involved in for one month. One month to take our theoretical questions to the field. We will be helping the social business in its two main missions: 1) Rural entrepreneur's training in order to promote the local economy, and to find a suited technical solution 2) Raising awareness of rural 7-9 years old age bracket over ecological issues with playful, technical and practical workshops

Cela fait maintenant presque un an que nous préparons le projet de The Odyssey. Un an de lectures sur l'économie du développement, de mails et de réunions Skype, de création de site Internet et logos, de paperasse administrative et de recherche de financements. Nous sommes très excités à l'idée de pouvoir commencer la partie expérience collective en terre indienne.

Nous avons atterri vendredi à New Delhi, la capitale du pays. Cette ville est en fait une partie de l’agglomération de Delhi qui compte 25 millions d'habitants, la plaçant ainsi 4ème agglomération la plus peuplée du monde. Delhi est une ville historique qui a très vite eu un rôle important, puisqu'elle fut désignée capitale de l'empire Moghol en 1526. Des monuments de cette époque comme le Fort Rouge et la Tombe de Humayun dans le vieux Delhi en témoignent. C'est en 1911 que New Delhi à proprement parlé fut construite. En effet la couronne britannique la préféra à Calcutta pour en faire la capitale de l'empire britannique des Indes.

C'est à travers l'entreprise sociale "Teach For Green" que nous allons effectuer notre première mission pendant un mois afin d'affiner nos questionnements à travers une expérience pratique. Nous les soutiendrons au quotidien dans leurs deux missions principales: 1) La formation d'entrepreneurs ruraux afin de créer une valorisation économique locale et une solution technique adaptée. 2) La sensibilisation des 7-9 ans en zone rurale aux enjeux écologiques par des ateliers ludiques, techniques et pratiques
