[EN][OUR SECOND STEP ][An adventure ends, a new begins]

After 3 weeks working and living in a crowded city we are now ready to take a jump into the calm and green countryside of Uttarakhand. Thus, bus tickets in hand, we are now heading north where we are going to spend the next month.

Uttarakhand has been created wih two main delimitations : the Himalayan in the north and the northwestern districts of Uttar Pradesh in the south. It became officially a state of India in 2000. However, Uttarakhand, also known as the Devbhumi (literally "Land of the Gods"), is one of the holiest places for Hinduism in India. Firstly because there is a huge amount of temples and pilgrimage sites but also because the Ganges and Yamuna rivers, (dedicated to Ganga and Yamuna divinities) have their sources in Uttarakhand.

Agriculture is one of the most important economic sectors but thanks to its geography and cultural richness, Uttarakhand develops other industries such as hydro-electricity production, tourism and yoga training.

In our mission, we will join an experimental farm created by two Indian people ( Avi & Rekhi) who wanted to tackle the rural exodus by providing sufficient revenue to villagers. Our mission falls into 3 parts: - Participate in the daily activities of the farm - Propose a business model integrating ecotourism - Design technical solution to improve the confort of local people ( solar panels, irrigation systems ...)

This mission will also be an opportunity to meet other initiatives such as : SARG bio-dynamic farming : "Root in earth, solar in Air" http://www.sargindia.org/profile.htm
