[Gussain] [between tradition and modernity]

Gussain is born 2 years ago from the will of 3 college mates to help their home region to fight rural exodus. Despite all the natural assets of the valley, more and more young people are leaving the countryside, its fresh air and food to reach the economic dynamism of cities where they find more paid jobs, good healthcare and education. Gussain project is aiming at two things. On the one hand, creating bigger sources of income for farmers by growing more profitable crops (rosemary, lavander, oregano, kiwi, dandelion flower instead of wheat and rice). On the other hand, diversifying sources of income by developing eco-tourism in the region. This would indeed offer new job opportunities to young people (guide, handicraft, yoga teacher, restaurants...) who let them stay in the valley.
